Funeral Services
Our funeral directors are committed to helping you create a special tribute to your loved one that will honor a life well-lived. We encourage you to share your ideas, customs and wishes with us.
The following is an overview of the different types of services that we provide. Our funeral directors will discuss the many other options and details that make each of our funeral services a personal, lasting tribute to your loved one.
|
Traditional Service A traditional funeral service includes a viewing or visitation, a formal funeral service (at the funeral home, local church or location of your choice) and the necessary automotive equipment, such as a hearse to transport your loved one to the funeral site and cemetery. You are encouraged to bring in photographs and other memorabilia to further personalize the service. |
|
Graveside Service A graveside service is held at the burial site. This service may be limited to the immediate family or open to all. After the service, there are options for a memorial service at the funeral home chapel, church or venue of choice. |
|
|
Memorial Service A memorial service is conducted without the body present and can vary in ceremony and procedures. It can be held at the funeral home or at a location of your choice.
In order to create a memorial service that is as unique as your loved one, we encourage you to help personalize the service with memorabilia, flowers. photographs and other personal items. |

Memorial Plaque
At the Congo Funeral Home, our families are presented a beautiful memorial plaque to memorialize the memory of their loved one. A photo of the loved one and a beautiful verse is inscribed on the plaque, which displays the date of birth and date of death. The presentation of this memorial plaque is offered at the time of the funeral ceremony and it is a gift from the Congo Funeral Home. |
| Memorial Dove Ceremony
All of the families served by Congo Funeral Home may participate in our memorial dove ceremony, which is held at the cemetery during the burial rites.
At the time of the graveside ceremony, a beautiful white dove is released as a symbol of their loved ones' journey to be with God. Congo Funeral Home was the first in the area to offer this beautiful tribute to our families.
