John Derek Miller affectionately known as “ Tee Tee”, a native of Delaware City passed away on December 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  

 

John began his journey at the age of 16, working for DuPont in the mailroom. While working 

he graduated from William Penn High School.  While still employed at DuPont he held the title of    .  He was able to travel to China, India, and Germany  just to name a few. He was able to retire and spend time with family and friends over this past year.

As a child John met the love of his life Annette “Nettie”.  It is told that she used to wait for him on the Delaware city bridge for him to come home almost everyday.  As time went on they were inseparable. John and Annette married and from this union John D. Miller Jr. “Jai Dee” and Shati A. Miller were born.  His family meant everything to him. 

He enjoyed being the grill cook for every event. From frying down fish or sparking burgers on the grill. Even getting the famous family roasted pig. He loved sailing out on his boat catching fish so he could bring home and fry. He even enjoyed being on his laptop and interacting with friends. Amazon Prime became his go to when it came to shopping. But most of all he enjoyed the sound of his motorcycle. So much he even became a Thunder guard. He was given the name “Lil Tee.” He was a member of the Dover Chapter.

 

John was preceded in death by his loving daughter Shati Miller and his mother Alma Miller.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his childhood sweetheart and wife Annette. His son John D. Miller (Nina), two grandchildren Jaida Lee and the new edition Naomi Elle. Three devoted brothers Alfred Miller of Delaware , Cling P. Miller (Susan) of Denver, and Michael Harrison of California. His loving sisters- laws Louise Cooke of Bear, De, Diane Brady (Jon) of New Castle, De, Debbie Watson (Vernon) of Smyrna, De. His brother - in- laws Robert Parker of Bear, De, Gregory Parker of Delaware City, De, and Arthur Parker (Jacquelyn) of Middletown, De. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews , cousins, and friends. 

 

A Special thanks to his devoted Aunt and Uncle Shirley and Teddy Brown who kept TeeTee in great spirits.

A memorial service will be held from 6pm to 9pm at Dragon Run Hall located at 801 Madison Street Delaware City, DE 19706
