John Louis Marshall, Sr., 84, of Bear, DE transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE. He entered this beautiful world on October 23, 1933 in Montclair NJ, into the loving arms of his parents James and Lucille Marshall.
On February 25, 1956, John married the love of his life Priscilla Marshall and spent 62 wonderful years together. Out of their union two children were born, John and James. The couple settled in Montclair and later moved to East Orange, NJ before settling in their home in Neptune, NJ for 43 years. In 2011, they move to Newark, DE with their son (James) and daughter-in-law (Flora), and recently settled in Bear, DE which they now call home.
John was a dedicated worker and was employed by the Department of Defense. He spent 15 years working as an engineer at Picatinny Arsenal and 27 years at Fort Monmouth as a Contract Industrial Inspector and Contract Specialist. He retired after 42 years of service, April 2000. John and his family were faithful members of Faith Fellowship Ministries World Outreach Center in Sayreville, NJ for over 20 years.
He was predeceased by his son John L. Marshall Jr., sister, Annie Alexander, brother, David E. Marshall, Sr. and wife Evelyn.
He is survived by his wife Priscilla of Bear, DE, his brother Roy and wife Marilyn of Neptune, NJ, son James and his wife Flora Marshall of Bear, DE and daughter-in-law Cherry Marshall of Pasadena, MD; seven grandchildren Antoinette, Nicole, Tina, Michele, John III, James Jr. and Blake, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
