Katherine Francis Sudler was born on March 15, 1936, to Charles and Beatrice White in Accomack County, Virginia. She received her education in Delaware and attended Howard High School in Wilmington, Delaware.
In September 1954 she married Reginald DeCosta Sudler (deceased). In September 1954 she became the mother of Reginald DeCosta Sudler, Jr. (a.k.a. "Rusty"). In November 1956 she became the mother of Eric Sudler (a.k.a. "Ricky").
Kathy loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Wilmington, Delaware. At Shiloh she served on the Missionary Board as well as sang on three choirs: Women's Day, Jubilee and Voices. Kathy was also known for her love of senior citizens, shopping, cars, bowling, traveling, spending time with family, and playing cards.
Kathy was a dedicated employee of Chrysler Corporation for more than 30 years. She was a dedicated member of the United Auto Workers Union (UAW), on the softball team, bowling league and several other UAW activities.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice (Trader) and Charles White. She is survived by her sons, Eric Sudler, Sr. and Reginald Sudler, Jr.; grandchildren Eunique Sudler Lawrence (Salaam) and Eric Sudler, Jr. (Jasmery), as well as three great-grandchildren, Calista, Alani, and Seth. She is also survived by a host of aunts, cousins, and friends, including best friends, Mary Torence, Elsie Coston (Tom), Ernestine Britt, and Frances Steed.
Home Going Service will be 10 AM Saturday, June 10th at Shiloh Baptist Church, 215 W. 23rd Street, Wilmington, DE 19802; viewing from 9-10 AM only.
Her entombment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, Dupont Parkway, New Castle, Delaware, immediately following the service.
