Lorraine Estella Cann, daughter of Allen Sterling McClain and Pearl Viola Jones McClain was born on July 11, 1947 in Oxford, PA. She departed this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Wilmington Hospital.
Lorraine received her early education in the public schools of Oxford, PA and graduated from Oxford High School in 1966. After graduating, Lorraine married, Joseph Dickinson and moved to the state of Delaware, and eventually gave birth to her beloved children Joseph Dickinson, Jr. and Tiffany Lorraine Alejandro.
Lorraine was united in Holy Matrimony in 2000 to her husband Clifton Robert Cann who was by her side at her passing, loving and cherishing her dearly.
Lorraine was employed by Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children where she worked as a Communications Manager. She continued in this capacity until retirement in 2011.
Lorraine attended Church of Christ on 23rd & Monroe Street in Wilmington, DE, where she served for many years as an usher. She enjoyed fishing and loved to go with her husband Clifton every chance that she could. But most of all Lorraine loved to spend time with her family.
Her Mother Pearl Jones McClain, Sister Elizabeth McClain Bell, Brothers Robert & Stephen McClain, and Step–Sister Evelyn Bowers preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: Her faithful Spouse, Clifton Robert Cann, Daughter Tiffany Lorraine Alejandro and Son Joseph Dickinson, Jr., Father Allen Sterling McClain & Step-Mother Kathryn Bowers McClain, Brother Sterling McClain. Five Sisters, Ruth McClain, Sherry McClain Jackson, Marcella McClain Mayo, Susan Davis Ruffin, Kathleen McClain, Step-brothers James, Gary & Dennis Bowers. Four Granddaughters, JoShyra Webster, E’jiah Dickinson, De’jiah Alejandro, Aigner Bantum. One Grandson Rashad Bantum, One Great-granddaughter, Jasiaya Spady. Her Former Spouse Joseph Dickinson Sr. and a host of family and friends too numerous to list.
