Philip G. Sadler left us suddenly on July 26, 2017.  He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Hackett Sadler. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Alisa Truss (Michael), his sons Jameon Cropper (Stephanie) and Philip G. Sadler Jr., his sister Patricia S. Griffin and six grandchildren whom he adored: Azsanee’, Aljamal, Ade’ and Amar Truss; Octavya and Evelyn Cropper and special friend Juanita Sealy-Williams.

Mr. Sadler was a 1962 graduate of Delaware State College (University).  Since graduation he has been an ardent member of the Alumni Association.  He fulfilled his civic duty as a current member of the Kent County Board of Adjustment.  He chaired and served on many other committees and boards.

His professional career included positions as an Accountant, Auditor and Financial manager.  He was a Financial Services Manager for AT&T Bell Laboratories and AT&T Business Communications Services.  Other positions included Deputy Director of Finance and Administration of the National Urban Coalition; Auditor, U.S. Army – serving in the United States and Japan.

His funeral service will take place 10 am, Saturday, August 05, 2017, at The Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew, 719 N. Shipley Street, Wilmington, DE 19801; public viewing from 8:30 am - 9:45 am only.

His burial will take place 10 am, Monday, August 07, 2017, in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the DSU Foundation, memo Holland Statue.
