Alan David Woody

November 15, 1960 ~ May 10, 2018 (age 57)

Alan David Woody, son of Johnnie W. Brown and Ezeakiel Woody Sr., was born on November 15, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware.  Alan departed this life on Thursday, May 10, 2018, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

He received his early education in public schools of Wilmington and graduated from Howard Career Center. While attending Howard Career Center he played basketball.  After graduating high school, he proceeded with his career as a crane operator at the Port of Wilmington.

Alan, affectionally known as, was a great husband, son, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was baptized at New Mount Olive Baptist Church.  He loved to cooking, fishing, softball, basketball (Lakers), cards, dominos, traveling, football, his motorcycle, spending time with family & friends and most of all talking trash and being a die-heart fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

In 2017, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Stephanie Dale and from this union they became one, The Woodys´ and enjoyed their time together.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  his lovely wife, Stephanie Dale-Woody; his parents, Johnnie W. Brown and Ezeakiel Woody Sr. (Phila, PA); 1 son, Allan Jamil Green Sr.; 1 step-son,  Anthony ¨Smooch¨ Dale; 2 grandchildren, Allan Jamil Green Jr and Ahmir Jamil Green; 3 step-grandchildren, Shawn, AJ and Kaden Dale; 4 brothers, Ezeakiel Woody Jr, Jhavon Robinson, Darren Carter and Melvin James (Phila, PA); 2 sisters, Monique Robinson and Gloria Hall (Georgia); 2 step-sisters, Cynthia Williams (Marty) and Gloria Robinson (both of Phila, Pa); 2 nieces, Zekita Maddrey and Syrita Hale; 5 great nieces/nephews, Reaquan White, Chyna White, Shahad Hale, Syrae and Symphony Baul; 4 devoted friends, Andre Ash, John Washington (Felicia), Waymen Thomas and Boe; other family and many friends.

Funeral will be 11 am, Friday, May 18th, at International Longshoreman's Hall, 200 S. Claymont Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19801, where viewing will be from 9-10:45 am only.  Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park immediately following the services.
