Christian Sikye Coffield was born June 5, 2001 to Crystal Coffield and William Ford in Newark, Delaware. Christian transitioned from this life suddenly on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the age of 17.
Chris, as he was affectionately called by family and friends received his early education in the Wilmington public school system and attend Dickenson High School where he played football as a wide receiver. He also played for “No Limit Hurricane” football team and “The Titans” where he was a running back.
Chris loved life and had a heart of gold that was pure. He was never to prideful to apologize, he treated people the way he wanted to be treated. He was a loyal and loving father to his only son Christian Sikye Coffield, Jr. who he called CJ. He took being a father seriously and the care of his son, making bottles, feeding him, changing diapers and preparing his bag when he had to go out. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for son, CJ.
He is survived by his baby boy, Christian Sikye Coffield, Jr. (CJ); his parents, Crystal Coffield and William Ford; siblings’ Isaiah Coffield, Brianna Coffield, Elijah Coffield, Jadon Coffield, Kahmier Rollins, Brielle Coffield, and Bria Coffield; his grandparents Elizabeth Burton and James Coffield Jr.; his God-father, Eric Jenkins and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends whom he had a special relationship.
His Celebration of Life Service will be 11am Friday, March 22, 2019 at Union Baptist Church, 2616 Carter St, Wilmington, DE 19802. Viewing 9-10:45 only.
His Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, 3300 N Market St, Wilmington, Delaware 19802.
