Denise Pearce was born March 9, 1955 in Buffalo, New York to Arthur Barber Jr. and Leola Nixon. On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at age 64, she went home to be with the Lord in Wilmington, Delaware.
She received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Pratt Institute in New York. Denise retired from Mobile Chevron Oil Refinery, where she worked as a chemical engineer. She enjoyed serving the Lord and working in media at her church. She loved singing, bowling and baking her famous red velvet cake. She made the best spaghetti sauce. She also enjoyed spending time with family especially her great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Barber.
Denise leaves to cherish her memory: her siblings, Vanessa Gray, her twin - Anise Brown (David), Elton Barber (April), Lorene Boyd (David) and Israel "Jerome" Barber; a godson Courey Barber and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her Celebration of Life Service will be 11 am, Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church, 20 W. Lea Blvd, Wilmington, DE 19802, where there will be a viewing from 9:00-10:45 am.
Her burial will be private.
