Eldridge Waters, Jr. was born January 13, 1942 in Wilmington, Delaware. He entered into his final rest on Monday, September 2, 2019, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the son of the late Eldridge Waters Sr. and Nannie Dove Waters.
He received his early education from the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware and received his high school diploma from Wilmington High School. He continued his education and received his Bachelors Degree in Education at St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Virginia.
Eldridge was employed by the Delaware Department Of Labor as a Social Worker. He was a member Ezion Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church for more than 60+ years. Eldridge loved music and he sang in the Chancellor choir and Sanctuary choir. He was a faithful member of the intercessory prayer group and family ministry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jessie Cook.
Eldridge leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Laverne Waters; children, Craig L. Waters and Melanie Waters-Cook (Paul); Grandchildren, Jordan Cook and Mia Cook, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am on Saturday September 7, 2019 at Ezion Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 800 North Walnut Street, Wilmington DE, 19801. There will be a viewing from 8:00 am - 9:45 am.
His interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle DE 19720.
