Evet Lamont Williams, son of the late James Edward Archie and Regina Mae Williams, was born May 3, 1968, in Wilmington, Delaware. He left for his heavenly home on Friday, September 28, 2018, in the Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania.

Evet received his early education at Colwyck Elementary School in New Castle, Delaware. He graduated from Christiana High School in 1988.  He then attended school for Culinary Arts, and Truck Driving.  Evet worked as a prep cook for the Sheraton Suites and Ramada Inn. He also worked for Pizza Hut, Pete’s Pizza and Jamesway.

Evet attended Old Fort U.A.M.E. Church in his earlier years. While there, he was a member of the Phase Three, the Youth Conference Choir, he attended Sunday school, was a youth usher, and at the time of his death, he was a member of the Israelites.

On June 23, 2007, Evet was united in marriage to the love of his life, Melva Jackson. He was affectionately know by “Twin,” Big Boy” and “Buff.” Twin was truly a family man and he loved his family dearly. His hobbies were watching football, cooking, working on cars and shopping at Goodwill. He was also a very talented drawer. Evet was known to drag out a story. If you were in a rush and he started telling you a story, you might be late for wherever you were going. Many remember Evet singing to his wife as she walked down the aisle on their wedding day.

Evet was preceded in death by his parents, James and Regina Archie; his twin brother, Emmett Williams; his sister Adella; sister-in-law, Dawn LeCompte; his grandparents, Joseph and Helen Archie, and Hazil and Emma Williams; and his God mother, Sandra Neal.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Melva Jackson-Williams; “Rockie” (his dog “son”); his sister, Nanette Snow; brothers, Kevin Mitchell (Jacquette), Brian Burks (Alisa), Marcus LeCompte, Timothy LeCompte; Edward LeCompte(Nettora) and James LeCompte; sisters, Angela LeCompte and Chanel LeCompte; uncles, Phillip (Beverly), Joseph (Jean), Ronald Archie, Otis Williams Sr. (Elizabeth),  Kevin Williams Sr, and Anthony Williams (Rev.
