Michael Alexander Brady was born on November 12, 1942 to Doreen and Walter Brady in Georgetown, Guyana. He passed, May 26, 2019 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He received his early education was in Georgetown, Guyana and graduated high school in NY. At the age of 16 he became a seaman and continued for more than 20 years. He attended and took classes at The College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, NY. This prepared him to become self employed and start his own business, “Mr. B’s Construction,” which he had for more than 30 years. He was truly a licensed General Contractor. He built homes, churches, baptismal pools in churches, daycares and he also remodeled homes.
Michael met and married, his soul mate, Virginia, on November 13, 1974 in New York. He was a wonderful husband, a great father and a loyal friend; he was respected by many. In his quiet time, he enjoyed relaxing in his man cave, that he built, while listening to his favorite oldies and reggae music.
In addition to his late parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Barwick Brady.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 45 years, Virginia Brady; children, Nicholette Shameer (Azeem), Michael Nieves (Rozalyn), Bruce Lee Brady (Simaline), Keisha Brady-Jones, Anthony Armstrong and Zachary Armstrong; grandchildren, Fareeza Shameer, Nafeeza Shameer, Devin Brady, Trevor Brady, Acaius Brady, Jamal Thompson, LaAsia Bell, Kéyshawn A. Jones, Keyonté C. Jones, and Shahir W. McClintock; a great-granddaughter, Luvaih Velez; adopted children/godchildren, Manuel Centron and Douglas King; siblings, Norman Brady (Joan), Jimmy Brady, Shiron "Cherie" Brady, Jennifer Dolphin, Philip Brady, Maurice Brady, and Compton Brady, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00am, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Unity Church, 2101 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19805. There will be a viewing from 8:00 - 10:00 am.
His burial will be private.
