Paul C. Boddy, age 95 of Wilmington, DE, departed this life on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Christiana Hospice Care. He was born in Colora, MD on June 7, 1923, to the late Levi and Myrtle Smith Boddy.
He was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School, Elkton, MD.
He was drafted into the United States Army, where he served honorably for 4 years and also served in Japan in 1941 during WWII. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground Military Base after serving 35 plus years as a Machinist.
He was a dedicated member of Ezion-Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. He was active in the United Men’s Choir; the Communion Stewards; the Gateway Lion’s Club of Wilmington, Delaware; the National Association of Anthropos Rho Chapter, an affiliate group to the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. and the United Methodist Men.
Paul was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Mildred Acree Chapman Boddy. In addition, he was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Boddy Presberry and Hazel Boddy Thomas; two brothers, Homer Hamilton Boddy and Frederick LeRoy Boddy; and granddaughter Catherine Chapman.
He is survived by a devoted stepson, Oscar Chapman, Jr. of Wilmington, DE, who was his caregiver. He is also survived by his sister, Faye Preyor, of Colora, MD; his grandchildren, Deybra Chapman, Cynthia Chapman, Oscar Chapman III, William Paul Chapman (Patricia), and Edith Chapman and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10 am, Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Ezion-Mt.Carmel United Methodist Church, 800 N. Walnut Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, where viewing will be from 9-9:45 am only. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720.
