Phillip Maurice Chapman (aka) Headball, was born on September 1, 1979 in Wilmington, Delaware to Carmen Chapman and the late Larry Hines. Phillip gained his wings on August 31, 2018.
Phillip received his early education in the Wilmington Public School System.
Phillip worked as a Construction Worker for many years. He was a proud father – always ready to spill updates about them. He enjoyed cooking – that was one of his specialties. Phillip was known for his family and community barbeques. He would rally the family together for special occasions; do all the shopping and cook the food. Phillip is also known in the City for his basketball skills.
Phillip was the protector in his family and for his friends. He had many different trades: he washed cars; planted gardens and loved to work around the house. He loved his children, nieces, nephews and little cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Hines (DVD man) and his brother, David Chapman.
Phillip leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Cierra, Quani, Shanetta, Prosperity, Saraya, Maurice, Ariyanna, Yuleini and Serenity. His mother, Carmen Chapman; his sister, LaShirl and his brother, Robert; a grandmother, Shirley Chapman; his aunt Salan (Mel), uncle Olden Thomas; Godfather, Bill Oliver; a longtime companion Lakisha Bloodsworth; and a host of nieces, nephews, little cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Funeral Service 11am, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Congo Funeral Home, 2317 North Market Street; viewing 9-11am.
Interment is private.
