Phillip A. Miller

November 20, 1958 ~ December 19, 2018 (age 60)

Phillip "Phil" Alphonso Miller departed this life on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was the son of the late Annie M. Laws and Raymond A. Miller. He was born on November 20, 1958 and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. Phillip was educated in both the Delaware and New Jersey school systems and graduated in 1979.
Once he completed his formal education, he proudly served in the United States military. Afterwards, he returned to New Jersey and became a skilled laborer. In 1986, Phillip relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he had his own landscaping business and married Stephanie Lowe-Miller. At the time of his death, he was residing with his current companion Cynthia Scott in Duquesne, Pennsylvania.
Phillip was an avid fisherman! He also loved gardening and taking care of his fish tanks. He enjoyed music, spending time with his family, and watching movies.
It was never a dull moment when Phil was around; he lovingly joked that he was the "KING" and wanted everyone including his children to "kiss the ring."
He leaves to cherish his memory: his stepmother, Joan L. Miller; six children: Jerome Ames, Philnise Johnson (Jarrell), Quan Simmons, Philmekia Donato (Anthony), Jada Miller, and Phillip Miller; three stepchildren: Derrick Scott (Jermaine), Roosevelt Scott, and Solomon Reddick; seven siblings: Lawrence Miller, Wendell Mickel, Daffonie Miller Moore (late Joel T. Moore), Ramona Miller-Scott, Rose Miller, Denise Jarmon- Portner (late William Portner), Velma Beamon- Finney (late Charles Finney); two stepsisters: Melia Dawkins- Burton, and Vida Dawkins; seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
