Renata S. Brodie was born in Pottstown, Pennslyvania on September 7, 1969. She went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2019 in Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Renata received her early education in the public school system in Laurel, DE. After graduating Laurel High School, she went on the obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism at Delaware State University.
She met the love of her life, Keone Brodie, in 1993 and they were married in 1996. From this union their 2 children, Shaquese and Anphernee.
Renata enjoyed writing, journaling and traveling to different cities around the United States. She was a wonderful mother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and an avid Washington Redskins fan.
Renata leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Keone Brodie; her children, Shaquese Brodie and Anphernee Brodie; her mother, Veronica Scott; siblings, Cormelion Brown, Antoinette Scott and Randolph Scott Jr.; a god-daughter and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at St. Matthews 1st Baptist Church, 214 West 10th Street, Laurel, DE 19956; with viewing from 8:00 am – 9:45 am only.
Her interment will be in the St. Matthews 1st Baptist Church Cemetery.
