Shylene Nicole Hope Rogers, daughter of Parthenia Rogers Exum and the late Clarence E. Butler was born September 30, 1984 in Wilmington, DE. She departed this life on March 28, 2019 surrounded by her family.

“Peeper” as she was affectionately known, received her education in the public schools of Delaware. She was often employed as an early childhood education specialist. She also had obtained certifications in TECE I and TECE II.

Peeper enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her nieces and nephew. In her eyes, they could do no wrong. She loved to go sneaker shopping and spending other people’s money was a great pastime of hers. She belonged to local social clubs such as “So Seductive” and “Fully Charged”.

Fattycakes was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Butler; her grandmother, Katherine “Kitty” Rogers; her great great grandmother, Virginia Mowbray; her great grandmother, Gertrude Parker; her aunts, Sharnette and Kecia Rogers, Sandra Brooks, and her uncle, Robert Miller; as well as the love of her life Allen Cannon “Messy”.

She leaves to cherish her big hearted memory: her mother, Parthenia Yogi Exum; grandmother, Evangelist Danette Butler; great grandmothers, Loretta Taylor and Doris Miller; grandfather, Walter “Buster” Rogers; 2 sisters, Sharnay Hampton and Keeonna Exum; 2 brothers, Tyair Brown and Minister CeAndre Gosa; 2 nieces, Samara Brown and Venice Giles; nephew, Amari Brown; favorite aunts, Pye Kennette and Uncle Beauty (Bert); devoted great aunts, Pastor Mamie Gamble, Debbie Roundtree, Karen Butler, her babe (Uncle Kenny); her favorite cousins, Antoine, Kyna, Kendra, Deniesha, Tariq; her companion, Darnell Mills; very special friends/sisters, Tanaya Travis, Angel Curtis, Kita Stephens, Jenea Murray, and Daria Hubbard; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral 11AM Wed., April 10th at New Destiny Fellowship, 906 E. 16th St., Wilm, DE; viewing 9-10:45am only. Burial, Gracelawn Memorial Park.
