Anthony Christopher Patton was born in Wilmington, DE on December 10, 1971 to Phyllis S. Patton and the late of Anthony F. Patton.
Anthony attended Christ Our King, Salesianum High School, and the University of Delaware. Anthony played football for Salesianum High School, and this earned him a scholarship to Wesley College, Dover, DE. He later transferred to the University of Delaware to continue to play football and to be closer to home. While attending University of Delaware he started working part time at Discover Financial Services. He eventually worked for Discover Financial Services for over 20 years. He then went on to work for Navient for over 10 years.
In his spare time he enjoyed restoring Volkswagen cars, coaching basketball, and spending time with his family. He coached girls’ basketball at five high schools in Delaware: Padua, Sanford, Tatnall, Friends, and Delaware Military Academy. For the last year he coached Women’s’ basketball at Delaware Technical Community College.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony F. Patton; grandmother, Elizabeth J. Sudler; and great-grandmother, Rita D. Carty.
Anthony is survived by his mother, Phyllis; three children Deziree, Anthony Jr., and Taylor; two grandchildren Kristian and Kassidy; two sisters Erica and Quiana; three nephews Eric, Andre, and Nathan; and a niece Kendall
