Apostle Dr. Eric D. Lloyd, Sr., was born June 07, 1965, in Wilmington, DE to the late Barbara J. Lloyd and Grady McCrary. He was raised by his late grandmother, Cora M. Lloyd, and left Wilmington in 1993 to reside in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Dr. Lloyd was Consecrated as an Apostle in Lakeland, FL. He was a renowned Apostle, Pastor, and Singer. Dr. Lloyd was also well respected and precise in the called office of Prophet.
At the age of 12, he was a paraplegic, paralyzed in both legs and also deaf in his right ear. The medical diagnosis indicated that he would never walk again. The Lord miraculously healed him.
Dr. Lloyd earned a Doctorate of Divinity Degree from Genesis Theological Seminary. Dr. Lloyd established “Keeping It Real (Help) Ministries” and was the Apostle/Prelate of 2nd Chance Deliverance Ministries in Mariana, FL. Prior to joining Holy Band of Inspiration Deliverance Temple, Inc., Dr. Lloyd mentored many prophets, pastors, and teachers. Many of his mentees have become prominent ministers of the gospel and are internationally recognized throughout the world because of Dr. Lloyd’s investment. He was known among his peers as the “Michael Jordan” of preaching.
Dr. Lloyd was an adjunct professor at Rutgers College and taught advanced single and marriage classes. Prior to moving to Florida, he was also a member of the NAACP Board of Directors, Wilmington, DE Chapter.
As a resident of Florida, he was the owner of two youth homes as well as an assisted living home for adults in Orlando, FL.
Dr. Lloyd was recognized by the Mayor as well as the City Council of Brunswick, GA, for mentoring youth to enrich their lives with knowledge, compassion, and overall sense of confidence to empower them into future productive citizens.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Ericka Lloyd, Ashley Lloyd, Shaera Lloyd, Cynthia Brown, Eric Lloyd, Jr., Renee Lloyd, Eremere Davis, Keith Battle, and Jeremy Lloyd. Dr. Lloyd had many spiritual children, godchildren, and adopted children such as Johnson Verelus and Robert Parker. He is also survived by his siblings: Jerry Lloyd, Terry (Von) Lloyd, Daxxanose McCrary, Sean McCrary, Carlton McCrary, James Williams, Bryan McCrary, Lem Anderson, Tangier Lloyd, the late Grady McCrary, Jr., and Darrick Lloyd (“his twin”); his spiritual mother, Dr. Patricia A. Brown; as well as a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
There will be a public viewing on Friday, May 08, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Congo Funeral Home, 2317 N. Market St., Wilmington, DE 19802. The public viewing will also be live-streamed. Following the viewing, he will be interred in Riverview Cemetery, 3300 N. Market St., Wilmington, DE 19802.
