David Brittingham, son of the late Claudia C. Johnson, was born on July 9, 1953 and departed this life on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in his home.
He graduated from Wilmington High School and began working for the Amoco station on the corner of West Fourth Street and Greenhill Avenue in October of 1975. The Amoco station underwent four changes in management and is now known as Greenhill Car Wash. Dave was a loyal employee and continued to serve customers for over 42 years. He retired in 2018 when his health began to decline.
He will be remembered by his family and friends as being a good man who always helped others and loved comics. He will be remembered by his customers as always smiling and being courteous.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia Johnson, and his siblings Damita King, Anthony Brittingham, and Jeffery Brittingham.
Dave leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Toni Neal; his siblings George Brittingham, Sandra Brittingham, Michael Brittingham (Sharon), and Whitney Blake; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
