Ishmael Bryheem Lewis was born on August 30, 1983 to Burnetta Lewis-Burley and the late Harvey C. Davis, Jr., in Wilmington, DE. He departed this life unexpectedly on July 19, 2020. Ishmael graduated from Brandywine High School where he excelled in track and football. He served in the United States Navy for 15 years. He earned his BS degree in Business from Wilmington University in May 2016.
Ishmael was also an exceptional bowler and belonged to many leagues. He enjoyed fishing, often with his big cousin Joel. Ishmael loved the water and going to the beach with his family. He took pleasure in taking long car rides with his wife and sons. He was an avid Madden player and loved competing against his brother Isaiah and Cousin Joel. Ishmael was very skilled with his hands and was often called upon to fix things at his Mom's house. He absolutely loved family and often attended every family event that took place. Ishmael was a die-hard Baltimore Ravens fan. His famous saying was "Ravens ALL day!!"
Ishmael was preceded in death by his father Harvey C. Davis, Jr., his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandparents Charles R. and Christine E. Wilson.
He leaves to cherish and honor his legacy his wife Yolanda Lewis; sons Mikael A. Lewis and Aidan J. Lewis; step-sons James Williams and Scott Henry, II (Precious); step-daughter Tara Lopez (Reginald); grandsons Jaylen and Messiah; his mother Burnetta Lewis-Burley and step father Edward Burley; brothers Isaiah Lewis who resides in San Diego, CA, Terry LaVaughn, Harvey Hudson, Morris Hudson, Damon Phares, and Paul Drew, all of Wilmington, Delaware; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, and Friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, July 31, 2020 at the Congo Legacy Center, 501 W. 28th Street, Wilmington, DE 19802, with public viewing from 9-10:45 AM only.
Burial will take place at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
