Mildred E. Lovelace (97), daughter of the late Younger and Lizzie Pannell, was born in Halifax, VA on July 20, 1922. She passed away peacefully at her home on June 20, 2020, in Newark, DE, with her family by her side.
She married Clinton P. Lovelace, and through their union two beautiful daughters were born, Lula and Sharon. She worked at the University of Delaware for 22 years in the Housekeeping Department. She loved the Lord and became a member of the Revival Fellowship Church in Wilmington, DE under the leadership of the late Pastor W. W. Koonce. Her favorite song that she loved to sing was, "You Know My Jesus Is All." She loved to cook, pray, and help people that were in distress.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Lula M. Rosser and Sharon E. Earl of Newark, DE. She was predeceased by her five brothers, George and Sam Pannell of VA, Washington Pannell of DE, Woodrow Pannell of Alta Vista, VA and Henry Pannell of Washington, DC; four sisters, Beulah and Margret Pannell of Newark, DE., Lena and Lillian Pannell of VA, and a grandson, Wayne (Tony) Lovelace.
Mildred is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Jency Pannell and Betsy Pannell; a host of grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a God-daughter, Sandra M. Wright.
Her viewing will be from 9:00-10:45 AM on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Congo Funeral Home, 201 N. Gray Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19805, where her Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 AM.
