Minister Annie Banks, age 89, went home to glory on May 9, 2020 at Christiana Hospital.
She worked as a maintenance worker for P.S. 22 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Annie was also employed at the Jersey City Medical Center and the Visiting Homemaker Services. She was a member of New Holiness Church in Wilmington, DE where she ministered for a short period of time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doc Banks; her parents, Elmo and Gertie Frazier; her siblings Robert (Ruby) Frazier, RJ (Agnes) Frazier, MC (Lucille) Frazier, Johnnie Will Frazier, Albert (Edith) Frazier, Bernice Frazier, Willie Bell Campbell, Mary Magdalene Washington, Ozzie Frazier, Susie (Fred) McEady, Johnnie Bell (Fred) Nash, Lillie (Willie) Daniels, and Evangelist Rosemary Groover.
Minister Banks leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings Curtis (Mary) Frazier, Elder Jesse (Lydia) Frazier, and Mamie (Ulysses) Oates; her children, Andrew (Cheryl) Banks and Gertie Banks; her grandchildren, Tanya Banks, Tangula Banks, Lisa Banks, and Andrea (Jermaine) Banks-Suggs; her great-grandchildren Andrew Hines, Alexander Suggs, and Ashley Manuel, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Congo Legacy Center, 501 W. 28th Street, Wilmington, DE 19802, where a public viewing will be held from 8:00-9:45 AM only. Social distancing will be practiced. Ten people will be allowed in at a time. Her interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ.
