Mildridge Boles

June 1, 1938 ~ July 11, 2018 (age 80)

Mildridge Boles was born June 1, 1938 in Millen, Georgia to the late Beulah Mae Boyd-Boles. He entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.

Mildridge graduated from Burgess Landrum High School in 1957. During his tender years Mildridge was also a Sunday School Teacher at Parrish Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Statesboro, Georgia. He had various jobs, chopping and picking cotton, cropping tobacco on the farm and the sawmill. He then migrated to Brooklyn, N.Y. and after a short time he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. While in Florida he met his wife. They were married for 55 years. He had several nicknames- “Cozy” because he was so cool and later he inherited the name “Blimpy”.

While in Florida he landed a job as a waiter. After a few years he decided he wanted to move back north to Paterson, NJ and he became employed as a waiter for Marriott in Saddle Brook, NJ where he later was promoted to help open “The View” in NYC. Mildridge decided to move to Newark, DE in 1994 and he commuted back and forth to NY to work until he became disabled in 1999. He became a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in 2006. He was faced with many health issues over the past few years and was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Loved ones who cleared the path for “Mr. Boles” are his son Darius E. Boles, 3 brothers, Robert, Clyde and Claude and his Great Grandson- “Rameek”.

Loved ones that will miss him until they meet again are his loving wife Mary H. Boles, Newark, DE, his son Cedric A. Smith(Natalie) Keyport, NJ, his daughter LaQuanna “Michele” Smith-Frierson(Darryl Costello) East Orange, NJ, 3 Grandsons Gregory L. Smith, East Orange, NJ, Robert D. Sanders, Newark, NJ and Michael L. Dixon, So. Orange, NJ; 1 Great Grandson Quran Sanders. One sister, Annie Pearl (Elzie) Clark, Atlanta, GA and one brother Curtis (Sylvia) Boles, Atlanta, GA.

He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of family that include, sisters and brothers in law, cousins, nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
