Ralph F. Davis was born April 30, 1944 in Dearing, Georgia to the late Clarie Scott and William Troy Davis. On Monday, August 26, 2019, he transitioned from this life peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving wife, Denise and son, Roderic. He was 75 years old.
Ralph spent his early years in Thompson, Georgia and then moved to Marydel, Maryland. Most of Ralph's adult life was spent in Wilmington, Delaware. He received his early education and high school education at Lockerman School in Denton, Maryland.
After moving to Wilmington, Ralph was employed by the State of Delaware, Forbes Steel, A&P Super Fresh Supermarkets, as well as Johnson Controls. Ralph worked at Johnson Controls until his retirement.
In May 2017, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Denise Hayman. Ralph received Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater St. John Baptist Church. Ralph enjoyed music and loved to dance. He was a fan of sports, especially Football, and his favorite team was the Washington Redskins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ralph (Chuckie) Davis and sisters, Mary Crawford and Linda Davis.
Ralph leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Denise Hayman Davis; his children, Myra E. Walker, Orlando “Lonnie” Johns, Roderic “Rod” Davis, Rayvon Carter, Ralphford Wells, Tye Davis, Meeka Brittingham, Lisa Roane, and James Hayman; one sister, Ella “Bessie” Coffer and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
His Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Congo Funeral Home, 2317 North Market St, Wilmington, Delaware 19802. There will be a viewing from 9:00 – 10:45 am only.
His burial will be private.
