Obituary

Joe Nathan Banks, age 80 was born June 4, 1940 in Conecuh County, Alabama and  departed this life July 20, 2020. Joe is the son of the late Edward Lee Banks, and Area Russell Banks. Joe received his early education in the public schools of Alabama.

Joe left Alabama at an early age, and  lived in Maryland, Massachusetts, West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware.

In 1999, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Vivian Jenkins. Joe had a fascination with trucks, from repairing, and driving them. Joe worked for several transportation companies including Mayflower, Braddock, and Carpenter Transportation just to name a few.

Joe loved his wife and all his children and grandchildren.  He was truly a family man and provider.  Joe enjoyed spending time with his neighbor Raymand Mears and talking on the phone to his brother “Witt”.  And he never failed to call his sisters Tee, Merl, and Annie at least once a week.

Joe leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife: Vivian Banks, his children: Paula Mack, Jonathan Banks, (Catrina), James Hunt, Sharon Hunt, and Celeste Anderson.  step children:  Andre and Bernita Jenkins.  grandchildren:  Gary Mack, Kimberly Mack, Ashley Mack, Tasha Banks, Deion Hunt-Wood, Rhonda Banks, Greg Banks, Janaya Banks, Kierra Jenkins, and Tyreef Harris, and 8 great-grandchildren.  Siblings: brother, James “Witt” Banks, sisters:  Annie Banks, Marlene Gates, and Mary Alice Jackson (Bob), and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will take place 11am Thursday July 30, 2020 at the Congo Legacy Center 501 W. 28th Street Wilmington, Delaware 19802. Viewing 9-10:45 only
