Michael Lamott Jenkins was born to the late Patricia Jenkins and Richard Holden on April 5, 1963, he departed this life Sunday, September 3, 2017. When he departed his life at the Hillside Center Nursing Home, his family believes he was at peace and ready.
Mike was well known in his hood radius at the "top of the hill" of the "Westside" of Wilmington. He was a true "Mama's Boy". One could always count on him to be either by his mother's side, in the same bedroom he grew up in, or sitting on the front porch with a newspaper and beer. When he wasn’t doing either of these things he was working on someone's car, cleaning up a yard, or whatever he could do to help someone out (or make a couple of dollars).
Mike was a carefree kind of guy. He left stress up to those who wanted it. For him life was just as hard as you made it. He believed, "It Is What It Is". He had very little worry and would make-do with just about any circumstance. When he was unsuccessful at obtaining what he wanted he knew how to dust the dirt off his feet and keep moving.
Mike loved to cook, especially breakfast and homemade pizzas. He also had a love for watching sports.
Mike leaves his sons Michael Carroll, Antwine and Anthony Davis; daughters, Atwineda Davis, Michelle and Teshia Tull; brothers, Richard Jenkins, Charles "Chuckie" Shawl, Jeffery Bayard and Toranio "Toy" Holden; sisters, Valerie Williamson (Gregory) and Loise' "Chanel" Meades (Timothy); 10 grandchildren, Asanti, Mezhi, Quadir, Mazayla, Jachaela, Michael Jr, Antwine Jr, Anthony Jr, Marlo, and Kyion and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish his memories.
