Congo truly is a Funeral Service Company that makes you and your family feel like family. I had the pleasure of working with Valerie, Candice, Sonny, and Zoe. Valerie handled the financial and paperwork portion of the process. She was attentive, empathetic, and thorough/detail-oriented. Candice is a sweet and beautiful soul that is always around to make these hard times a little less hard. She prayed for our family, gave words of encouragement, and kept us up to the minute about everything that was happening and about to happen. Sonny and Zoe are the gentleman that drove our family to the burial from the service. They made our family feel safe and secured. They walked us to and from the service and burial. Sonny is a protective, devoted, and comforting spirit. Zoe is a warm-hearted and consoling man that also prayed for our family and gave words of encouragement. All in all, Congo Funeral Services has made each of our funeral experiences less complicated. We as a family felt heard, understood, and had our wishes respected and honored in every way. Baine Family - I had no classes with Josh, but we were both members of the 1960 Conrad graduating class. I did not know him but knew him by sight. His obituary told the story of a man who had a great life and did his best. I wish I had known him in adulthood. My sympathy goes to his many family members, especially his children. On August 16, my sweet mother Savannah E,Lewis- Landrum known to many in Wilmington as Mrs, Essie M, Lewis- Fisher. Mother was a life long friend of the founders of Congo Funeral Home. Being such, they were the one and only choice for us to call when she passed on. They have always given top notch and respectful services to those whom rely on them. They treated us with such dignity and respect.. Those that received mother's remains gave to her the upmost respect. Praying with the family before taking her away. Comforting us throughout the process. Their wonderful staff patiently guided and assisted us. I don’t know how I can put into words every thing they did for us. From start to finish they were with us. They made sure that mother looked absolutely beautiful with the materials we provided. She looked like a sleeping beauty. Me and my family recently had Congo Funeral Home handle the service for my mom. The service provided was unbelievable. I'am from New York and never have I experience such outstanding and Professional care and support from Congo and its staff. The Family Advocate/Funeral Attendant we had was Ms. Doris Moore. I told my Grandson how great she was and he said no Nana, she went above and beyond. Thank you Ms. Moore.
